Bryant Faces Off Against Merrimack In First Meeting At D1 Level

Bryant University Bulldogs Face Off Against The Merrimack College Warriors On Wednesday Night In Their First Meeting At D1 Level

The Bryant University Bulldogs will visit the Merrimack College Warriors on Wednesday night up in Merrimack. This is the first time the two team have faced off at the D1 level with Merrimack joining the NEC this year. Overall, the two programs have faced off 52 times beforehand with the Warriors holding a 33-19 advantage. The last time these two teams met was back in 2008.

Merrimack is 9 and 8 on the season and 3 and 1 in NEC play. Their three wins in NEC play came against Sacred Hart, Mount St. Mary’s, and Central Connecticut State. They also won a buy game at Northwestern in their first game at the D1 level.

Juvaris Hayes has been an absolute stud for the Warriors this season. He’s averaged 9.8 points per game and 4.8 points per game. Hayes also leads the nation with 64 steals on the year.

It is unclear if the Bulldogs will have Hall Elisias on Wednesday night when the two teams face off. In this past Saturday’s game against Mount St. Marys, Elisias took two falls and was banged up so much he couldn’t play at the end of the game. Having Elisias will be huge for the Bulldogs because he does such a good job clogging up the paint on the defensive end. If he plays, the Bulldogs will have a much better chance of coming away with the win.

The game starts at 7:00 PM from Hammel Court on the campus of Merrimack College. Fans can watch the game live on NEC Front Row.
