Boston Red Sox Second Basemen Dustin Pedroia To Rehab With Single-A Greenville Drive
On Sunday Boston Red Sox Manager told members of the media that infielder Dustin Pedroia would be rehabbing with the Greenville Drive on Thursday.
Pedroia according to Cora played eight innings in an extended Spring Training game on Sunday morning and from all accounts it went very well.
Prior to the Drive season opener on Thursday Pedroia will attempt to play a full 9 innings in an extended Spring game on Tuesday and barring no set-backs, will join Single-A Greenville.
Now for PawSox fans wondering why not Triple-A, well that answer is very simple.
Games in Greenville tend to have good weather and are rarely cancelled giving Pedroia a more definitive chance of getting a rehab game in. If it had been with Pawtucket the weather would have been rather unpredictable.
Pawtucket opens up their season on Thursday at Syracuse and then they travel to Buffalo before returning home to McCoy on April 11th.
