Despite holding a lead on two separate occasions the Providence College Friars Men’s Hockey team fell to Holy Cross 3-2 in over time on Friday night.
Providence’s goal scorers were Greg Printz who picked up his fifth goal of the season in the first period and Jack Dugan who scored his second goal of the year.
PC held a 2-1 lead up until 23 seconds remained in the third period and Holy Cross scored with a 6-to-5 advantage with the goaltender pulled.
The Crusaders tacked on the game winning goal 2:57 into the overtime period on a Kevin Darrar breakaway goal going back-handed on Friars goalie Michal Lackey.
With the loss PC drops to 1-1 on the year and will be back in action on Saturday night when they host the U.S. National Development Program in an exhibition game at 5 pm.
